Let's see some stitching @ Totally PaperCrafts

Good Morning

What lovely weather are we having at the moment here in the UK.
I hope where ever you are the weather is also being kind.

Today there is a new challenge starting over at Totally PaperCrafts.

This week Suzette is hosting the challenge and she has chosen a great theme:

'Stitching on a Card'

I must say it was a real challenge for me as I've never used my sewing machine in my paper crafting projects before. I have faux stitched before but this time I thought I'd go with the real thing.

I used an image from this week's sponsor Crafty Sentiments 'Fancy Dress'
Crafty Sentiments

I have coloured her in with Copics & Chalks

I then had a play with my Frantage for the first time that I brought a few weeks ago when doing a bit of retail therapy!!!

After stitching the paper onto the mats I distressed the edges with 'tea dye' distress ink.

The little fence was cut out using a MB die.

So come on get stitching I want to see what you create!

Hop on over to the main challenge blog for more great inspiration.

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #175

Good Morning,

Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far.

I am here with my DT card for Sunday Sketch & Stamp.
Our lovely Kim has given us a great sketch to work with this week, with so many possibilities!

We have Crafty Ribbons sponsoring us this week

Crafty Ribbons

Here is my card using a Freebie from Wee Stamps Love Birds. The sentiment was added in the heart by me in Photoshop  prior to printing off.

I printed the image off twice & coloured in with copics & chalks. I then cut out a set of birds and the flowers which I layered onto the base image after giving them a bit of shape. Viva pearls were used in the center of the flowers and to the dots in the image.

Pampered Pets paper was used for the base mat, scalloped circle & the corners. A piece of  white paper embossed with the Dainty Dots folder from spellbinder was added to the base mat. A piece of organza ribbon was wrapped around this before sticking to the card base.

To finish the corners were added as was the image and a bow, simples!!!!

Hop on over to the main challenge blog for more super duper  inspiration.

Have a great day, enjoy!!!!

A Baby is Born

Good Morning,

I have some wonderful news this morning.
My friend of many years became a Nannie to a little Boy Harry. He arrived 4 days late weighing 7lb 12oz.
When I got the news I set to to make her & her hubby a card.

I did not have time to colour in an image (shame on me!) so looked in my box of images I've had printed & some coloured for a long time. I must say I'm not that happy with my colouring but time was against me. I think the rest of the card is self explanatory.

Enjoy your Weekend!

21st Drummer Boy

Good Evening,

I am feeling really happy as I've been to see my Nurse Specialist this afternoon. She checked my wounds and has said that I do not need to go to the practise nurse/district nurse daily any more as my wound has just about healed, HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!. I've been up and down to have the dressing changed for about 4 weeks now, I'm just wondering what I'll find to do with my extra time at home.

I thought I would share a card with you today that I was asked to make. The brief was a 21st Birthday card for someone called Sam who loves to play the drums

I think I covered everything, do you?

The numbers were cut out on the silhouette using dotty paper from my scrap box (can't remember where it's from). The image was sourced from the internet & was taken over to Photoshop where I typed in the sentiment to the drum front. The white embossed backing paper was created using a mask & matted onto the same blue paper that the edge of the numbers were cut from.

Happy 2nd Birthday Friday Sketch Challenge

Good Evening Blog Friends,

It's a very wet one here in Northampton, UK.
Hopefully the weekend will be a bit drier!

It's Friday Sketch Challenge's 2nd Birthday.
To celebrate we have two sponsors for this challenge.
That means rather than just the one winner we will have TWO winners for this challenge!

Our first sponsor is Inky Impressions.  They are offering a $10 Gift Certificate to one lucky winner

Our second sponsor is Fitztown.  They offering 3 digis to one lucky winner.  The digis can be chosen by the winner!

Here is this fortnights sketch:

and here is what I created using Fae 2 from Fitztown:

I coloured in the image using my Copic markers & a little chalk. The wings have had glamour dust added to them after a little colour was applied. I cut the image out using the 'out of the box technique', this was not an easy task due to the fine curly ends which are very pretty and were worth the effort to keep. The papers were printed from a Polka Doodles CD. The border was punched out using the 'Diamond Swing' punch from Tonic.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Sunday Sketch & Stamp #173

Good Morning everyone,

I've been absent for a while now due to having been in hospital, my last few posts have been scheduled which appear to have gone live as per my instructions to Mr Blogger!
I received good news this week when I went to see the doctor for my results. The surgery was successful & I just need some preventative treatment but not sure what that will be at this moment.
I can't wait to get back to blogging and visiting all you lovely people, however at the moment I am up & down the hospital & doctors most days which sounds silly but takes up most of my time.

Any way down to business!
There's a new challenge starting over at Sunday Sketch & Stamp.
This week I have designed the sketch which is nice and simple.
I can't wait to see what you create using it.

Here is what I created:

Image - Stamping Bella 'Victoria and Juliette's Night Out'
Colouring medium - markers, chalks & glitter
Papers - Shabby Princess
Flowers - Double layer of die cut & punched flowers with viva pearl centres
Leaves - MB Die
Sentiment - Computer generated

Enjoy your Sunday!
