Walkies!

Good Morning,

How lovely to see a bit of sunshine!
The last Sunday of every month I have the family up to 15 over for dinner. It's usually a roast with someone choosing what meat and pud will be served.
As the weather has been nice we have decided to light the BBQ but having just watched the weather forecast I'm panicking. There is the chance of rain so fingers crossed everyone.

I'm back today to share my second make for my Sister. Having made a being pleased with the coat hooks in my previous post I decide to make some hooks for the other members of the family, the Dogs Annie & spud

I made it to match the coat hooks, method in previous post using smaller hooks and stenciled a paw print to the heart in place of the lettering. I also added some plaited twine so that no holes have to be drilled, just a hammer and nail/picture hook.

Have a great sunny weekend!
fingers crossed!

H.O.M.E.

Good Morning,

I wanted to share something a little different with you today.
While out shopping a while ago with my wonderful Sister she hunted in her bag for a piece of string. She needed a new coat hook to replace her broken one, however as she does not like DIY she was looking for one that would screw straight into the holes left when removing the old one, hence the piece of string. She had cut a piece of sting the distance between each hole which turned out to be 11"

She told me she had been looking for a while but could not find anything.
I told her to stop looking and told her that I would make her one.

And here it is

I made this from a piece of wood that I cut to the length I wanted. From the same piece of wood I cut 2 hearts which were then cut in half to make them less bulky. All pieces were sanded, painted in a grey paint then painted over the top of this with a cream/red paint. When dry I sanded back to reveal some of the undercoat colour and in some places back to the wood.

I the made some stencils on the cameo to spell HOME which I stippled through on the hearts with black paint. Hooks were the added and holes 11" apart were drilled and countersunk.

I was quite pleased with the outcome so made a little something else for her which I will share with you tomorrow.

Needles are Out at MAWTT

Good Morning everyone!

Well I'm on leave this week, so I have been catching up on the things I don't get done when working.
Opticians, doctors, many phone calls and household/garden chores.
I also had to spend some time in my craft room as I had my DT card to make for this weeks challenge over at Moving Along With The Times
The lovely Emily has chosen a fab theme
Sewing & Stitching
It could be with your machine, by hand or with a pen or dies.

Don't ask why, as the weather is so beautiful here at the moment but I decided to make a Christmas card. I'm gonna blame C&C for having their Christmas week!

Image - Pre coloured printed from Crafters Companion Barkley CD
Papers - very old from HOTP
Sentiment - computer generated
Snowflakes - cut on cameo
Border die - SB
Stitching - Pricked using a ruler from creative expressions then using a pen joined the dots

Visiting the main challenge blog is highly recommended to get those creative juices flowing.

Dream Valley have gone Girly

Good Morning,

Seems ages since I've posted, well done any blogging to be honest.
My last post was scheduled which was lucky as I may not have got to post then.
The reason being is that my cat had to go to the vet, I couldn't take her as I'm not good with things like that. So my Mum & Son took her and unfortunately, as I expected she didn't come home:(
